But if you haven't al- ready, it's high time you came out of hibernation and feasted your eyes on the most pictur- esque show in golf, starting Thursday. Irish Golfer Magazine has once again been fortunate enough to secure a media in- vite to the event and although I'm not the one driving down Magnolia Lane this year, re- ports from base camp say the place is looking better than ever. This year's talking points mainly surround two Nike sta- blemates, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods with the former looking to etch his name into golfing immortality and the lat- ter, immortal already, hoping to don his fifth green jacket and hasten his chase of Jack Nicklaus' elusive 18-major haul. But whether it's Rory rushing to try on a first green jacket in the Butler Cabin or someone else, we're just hop- ing that come the back-nine on Sunday, the leaderboard is filled with the names this great tournament deserves. And don't discount Shane Lowry's hopes of featuring in the mix. It's been a long road to the Masters for Lowry since his Abu Dhabi win but final- ly free from the shackles that were securing his invite, the Clara golfer has the talent to negotiate Augusta's hallowed turf better than most. It's Masters week and we're struggling to contain our excitement! ONE MORE SLEEP… Peter Finnan, on behalf of the team
