The Ar- dglass professional is the latest touring professional from the is- land of Ireland to earn his card to the top tier of European golf. It's been a coming-of-age year for the 27-year old with his eight top-10 finishes on the Challenge Tour supplemented by a bumper week at the Irish Open at Lahinch where he collected €85,000 for a top-15 result. Sharvin has enjoyed the fruits of a concerted investment in his team over the course of the season and his form of 2019 is an example to fledging pros around the world that you have to invest in yourself, just like any business, if you're to reap the rewards over time. "I've been a pro now three years and I've made kind of steady pro- gression but I've made a leap this year," Sharvin said recently. "I think it's just testament to the work that I've done with my team. I've added a few members to the team. My Strength and Condition- ing coach Alan, he's really helped me – I've gained a bit of distance with him. "My performance coach Ed [Coughlan] has been unbelievable. He's just given me a totally differ- ent outlook on the game and I've relished the pressure he's put me under. I've been accountable for everything I've done this year and I think it's brought out the best in me." Hoping to join Sharvin on Tour full-time next season will be the likes of Gavin Moynihan and Paul Dunne who take their chance at the six-round slog that is Final Stage Qualifying School that starts at Lumine on Friday 15-20 November. Let's hope Irish eyes will be smiling once more. Cormac Sharvin becomes the latest Irish player to walk through the Pearly Gates of the European Tour. WELCOME TO THE PROMISED LAND Cormac Sharvin
